Fishing charters

The best-kept secret in Central American sport fishing

While neighboring Costa Rica and Panama have become crowded tourist destinations, our waters off Nicaragua's northern coast have stayed virtually untouched: no crowds, no competing charter boats, just you and the fish.

Here, you'll find massive roosterfish, hard-fighting Pacific sailfish, black and blue marlin offshore, and abundant mahi swimming in waters that feel like fishing did decades ago. This isn't a tourist operation. It's real, authentic, raw adventure. If you want the experience Costa Rica offered 20 years ago, you'll find it here.

No experience needed: our guides tailor each day to the group, whether you're learning to fish offshore or you've been doing it for years.

When to come

The fishing season

Our fishing season runs May through October only.

It's an excellent time for offshore fishing, and May and June are exceptional for mahi mahi. Roosterfish are around all season, and peak time is August–September.

The season is Nicaragua's rainy season, but the rain rarely affects the fishing. We head out early, when mornings are typically clear and calm, and we're usually back before any afternoon showers roll in. The rain also brings cooler air and cooler water temperatures, which makes for better fishing, and it keeps everything green and the crowds away.

Whales and wildlife

Humpback whales pass along this coast during the season, and on the run out to the fishing grounds you may see whales, dolphins and sea turtles.

The bonus · Surf

Fish all day. Surf The Boom at dawn.

The Boom, a world-class A-frame beach break, sits steps from your casita and breaks best at first light.

We also take you by boat to uncrowded waves up and down the coast, from beginner-friendly beach breaks to advanced point breaks. Whether you're paddling into your first wave or chasing hollow barrels, we'll get you on the right wave for your level.
